91大神 College of Wisconsin Brain Injury Research Program

The Brain Injury Research program was established in 2011 and focuses on investigating the acute and chronic effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI). With funding from the Department of Defense, National Collegiate Athletic Association and other sources, current research employs basic and applied methods to study civilian, military and sport-related brain injury. Ongoing projects include neurocognitive assessment of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI); advanced multi-modal MRI techniques; head impact research; and determining the short- and long-term effects of mTBI and concussion.

Participating Laboratories

Research in the Brain Injury Research program is led by world-class faculty specializing in neurosurgery, neurology, neurophysiology, traumatic brain injury, and imaging. Participating Laboratories include the Brett Lab, the McCrea Lab, the Meier Lab and the Nelson Lab.

Dr. Lindsay Nelson and researchers at MCW's Nelson Laboratory study patients鈥� feeling and functioning after traumatic brain injury with goals of improving clinical endpoints for translational studies and clinical trials, better understanding patient heterogeneity, and developing patient-centered improvements in clinical care.

Led by Dr. Timothy Meier, and in collaboration with MCW's Brain Injury Research program, the Meier Laboratory uses advanced imaging, clinical and behavioral testing to investigate the acute and chronic effects of traumatic brain injury, including sport-related concussion.

Many of our research participants complete follow-up visits with us at Froedtert Hospital in the Pavilion Building. If you have a visit with us, please park in Lot 4 and enter through the large revolving door off of the circle drive.
